• A long-term goal has been to reduce capacitor losses and to increase the output per volume unit. CHD capacitors are a result of this development. With CHD capacitors, we tailor cost-effective and environmentally friendly capacitor banks for reactive power compensation in all types of power grids.

Design Features:

• QBANK is built with single-phase capacitor units mounted in hot-dip galvanized steel racks. The capacitor units may be mounted vertically, but are normally horizontally mounted to fully benefit from their compact design. The units are connected in series and parallel to achieve the desired voltage and power rating. The banks are built either by placing the racks on top of each other, with any necessary insulators in between, or with the racks placed side-by-side, depending on the space available at the installation site.
• An unbalance current transformer is supplied as standard when the capacitor bank is Y-Y or H connected. QBANK is supplied with internally fused, externally fused or fuseless configurations depending on the bank’s voltage and power level.
• QBANK is certified according to EMC directive 89/336/EEC.

C & S Normal Duty Capacitor for normal inductive linear loads. The Cylindrical Capacitors are self-healing, metalized polypropylene film Capacitor. The current-carrying AIZn metal layer is vapor-deposited onto one side of the film.

C & S Long Life (extra heavy duty) Capacitor for loads exhibiting some amount of non-linearity, presence of harmonics, medium size industries. Description:
KLV and KLVD capacitors are designed for reactive power compensation of electrical networks and industrial plants. When required voltages are higher than rated voltage of individual capacitor, units are integrated into banks by means of series connection. Fusing is provided according to national requirements. Owing to high partial discharge inception voltage, capacitors are suitable for installation in networks with higher harmonics and transient voltages. Low temperature dependent capacitance change makes them particularly suitable for filter circuit installations.

Types of capacitors and their use:
KNI 3xxx - Capacitors for power electronics – direct current (AC/DC) – they are used like impulsive, filtering, and smoothing capacitors in power electronic devices (usually in commutators).

KNI 20xx - Capacitors for power electronics – direct current (AC/DC) – they are used like impulsive, filtering, and smoothing capacitors in power electronic devices (usually in commutators and lasers).

The split-phase capacitor units provide an economical double-star (Y-Y) unbalance detection configuration using only three units, compared with conventional designs using six units.
